UFC FIGHT NIGHT: BOSTON

Alright folks, we got a fight card in my hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, the greatest city in the world, the City Of Champions. While it’s certainly not a PPV level card or main event, no world title fights, its a banger of a fight card and a fitting one for my city. This will be my 6th live UFC experience and i get goosebumps every time i walk in the building. You can feel the importance of EVERY fight for these fighters, who usually can only fight 2-3-4 times a year max, a win and loss are CRUCIAL to their careers whether you are a young prospect or a veteran. It’s truly an honor to go to these events and watch these men and women fight their hearts out. I genuinely get chills even typing that out.

The main event is a light heavyweight bout between undefeated prospect Dominik Reyes and former middleweight champion Chris Weidman. This is a BIG fight with title implications and the winner could very well earn a title shot against Jon Jones. It says alot about UFC politics when Weidman, in his first light heavyweight fight could get a title shot if he wins just one fight at his new weight class, albeit against a top undefeated contender. Nonetheless i think this fight could be awesome and a back forth brawl, but Weidman’s takedown offense is so freakin good and powerful he might completely neutralize Reyes’ striking by taking this to the ground. I think that’s the case and Weidman win this by decision.

Other fights to look out for are the co main event between Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez, it will be fight of the night in a rematch from just a few weeks ago when Stephens had to discontinue to the fight after getting poked in the eye. These two HATE each other and is a main event level fight, im super super excited to see this one, it will light up the Gahden. Scumbag Greg Hardy is fighting as well on this card, yes that Greg Hardy, former NFL player, very controversial, im not getting into it, but, he’s a talented heavyweight prospect and will be on the main card tonight.

Others on this stacked card include 21 year old top women’s prospect Maycee Barber, im very excited to see how good she is against a good opponent in Gillian Robertson. You got Daniel Cormier protege Deron Winn starting the main card and fellow Bostonians Joe Lauzon, Kyle Bochniak (shoutout Broadway Jiu Jitsu) and Boston Salmon fighting tonight as crowd favorites and big fights for all 3. All in All this should be a banger of a card and night and im super amped to get to the Garden and watch these super incredible athletes go at it. LFG.
